Nathan Jones - My Coaching Story

Apr 04, 2014

Ever been reluctant to start something, always putting it off, thinking "one day, I'll do it". Well, that is how I felt about coaching!!

nathan_2.jpgWorking long tedious hours had impacted heavily on my motivation to continue doing the training and racing that I love. We are creatures of habit, I was doing the same thing week in week out, with no specifics. It felt too hard and too time consuming, a chore one may say, but that's not right, it is a passion not a profession!! Having to think about what to do as other things occupied my mind from the daily grind of work and family commitments meant I just plodded along and was seeing no improvements in my strength or stamina.

This is not me. I am a passionate, committed and competitive athlete. I realise that as I get older my hair will go grey, I will lose a few inches and wrinkles will appear. However, one thing I do know is that my competitiveness and my passion for training and racing will never leave me.

Shannon Connolly took the T out of tedious and put back the M for Motivation Joining Dig Deep and working with Shannon Connolly took the T out of tedious and put back the M for Motivation. I no longer have the mental stress of creating a program where I constantly think "will or won't it work". I trust Shannon to keep me physically fit, healthy and keep my relationships in tact with the flexibility and time management he provides me. Every session is different, exciting and more importantly, enjoyable!!

If you're second guessing about getting a coach, then don't. After 3 months with the Dig Deep crew I am feeling great. I am training less but harder, quality not quantity, something that has taken me years to learn. If you don't think you have time for a coach then think again, it's the key ingredient of communication that provides the flexibility and management for your training. If you want to stand out from the rest, reach your goals and dream big then don't do it alone...
