Cody's Challenge in its 4th Year!

Sep 20, 2013

codyschallenge_5.jpgThe 2013 Cody’s Challenge is approaching again and we look forward to seeing a fantastic turn out of local cyclists in Richhill on Sunday 20th October to support such a worthwhile cause.  This will be the 4th year of Cody’s Challenge that has seen massive support from the cycling community supporting a local charity improve the lives of children and families who fight heart disease.

The event was born out a desire to raise much needed funds for Children’s Heartbeat Trust, located at Clark Clinic in the Royal Belfast Hospital in memory of Cody Gallagher, son to Stephen and Judith Gallagher.  During Cody’s time at Clark Clinic the medical team provided unconditional love, support and care to both Cody and the family circle.

Last year over 450 riders took part in Cody’s Challenge which raised over £8,500 on the day.  All entrance fees are donated to Children’s Heartbeat Trust with members of the charity and families whose children are fighting heart disease in attendance to help support the cyclist raising funds for this worthwhile cause.

In 2013 Cody’s Challenge will take place in conjunction with Steady Cycling Club on Sunday 20th October 2013.  The sportive boasts two distances of 50 and 70 miles which facilitates both recreational and competitive cyclists alike. The routes are based on last year’s course with the feed station at Aghaloo GAA club in Aughnacoly and the finish back in Richhill recreation centre for some well earned refreshments.   The cost is £20 for adults and £10 for under 16’s.
